Open since January 7, 2026, Fromagerie de la Plaine is a cheese shop like no other. Run by a cheesemonger who changed careers, it features two distinct yet complementary sales areas. One is the physical store, while the second consists of automated refrigerated lockers accessible from the street. How do the two entities coexist, and how did MonCasierFrais.fr manage to adapt the point of sale to the cheese shop's needs? That is what we will explore in this article.

Fromagerie de la Plaine: between a cheese shop and a gourmet deli

Yoann Duquesnoy: the starting point of the business

Fromagerie de la Plaine is managed by Yoann Duquesnoy, a young man from the fashion industry who underwent a career change to follow his passions. For several years, Yoann had wanted to take up a trade closer to food artisans, in order to showcase quality products. He wanted to sell products he held in high regard at a local shop in his neighborhood of Sainte-Foy-lès-Lyon (Rhône).

Much more than just a cheese shop

From the moment Fromagerie de la Plaine opened, Yoann wanted to stock his shelves with cheeses from all over France. A lifelong lover of the Savoie region, he enjoys highlighting iconic cheeses from Savoie and Haute-Savoie. You will find the famous Reblochons, as well as Tommes and raclette, of course!

But the Fromagerie de la Plaine is also a high-quality dairy shop where you can find farm butter, eggs from the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, and even crème fraîche.

Mindful of the social impact of a local business, Yoann also carefully selects gourmet grocery products from companies or organizations that "have a purpose", as he likes to put it. For example, the jams, soups, and compotes found in his gourmet section are produced in a vocational rehabilitation workshop in Haute-Savoie. As for the coffee, it comes from a roaster in Sainte-Foy-lès-Lyon that employs visually impaired staff from an ESAT.

The immediate desire to combine a physical shop with an automated point of sale

From the very launch of his business model, Yoann Duquesnoy planned to combine a physical shop with chilled smart lockers.

Thus, the shop is a local creamery and cheese shop, with its displays of dairy products and cheeses. It has set opening hours throughout the week and allows customers to place custom orders for private events.

The lockers, meanwhile, form an automated point of sale next to the store. Accessible when the cheese shop is closed, both on weekends and Mondays, they perfectly complement Yoann's store.

The Fromagerie de la Plaine is therefore a hybrid business that, from its opening, has successfully balanced both in-store and automated sales. It is a modern, forward-looking business that has just been established in Sainte-Foy-lès-Lyon.

This operating model is reminiscent of the Fromagerie du Noyer, which has also acquired one of our automated cheese dispensers.

Custom design for their automated point of sale

For this one-of-a-kind creamery and cheese shop, it was necessary to create an automated point of sale that reflected its brand identity. Designed to measure, based on Yoann's needs and the technical constraints of his premises, his automated cheese dispenser is now operational.

Constraints of the premises

First constraint: the point of sale had to fit into a cramped space, specifically an old storefront window. The cheese dispenser had to occupy the entire entrance area to be accessible only from the street. A sort of automated dispenser hidden behind the shutters of the former window display.

Our team therefore designed a point of sale that met the cheese shop's sales objectives, while addressing the existing physical constraints. Two AR24 refrigerated cabinets were installed, which perfectly match the glass surface area of the old facade.

The result: a cheese dispenser integrated into its environment

From both a practical and aesthetic standpoint, the refrigerated automated dispenser at Fromagerie de la Plaine is a success.

Located just a few meters from the shop entrance, the point of sale can be restocked with new products in just a few minutes.

With its white color, Yoann’s automatic cheese vending machine blends perfectly into its immediate visual environment. The white contrasts with the green of the cheese shop’s facade and instantly catches the passerby’s eye, without clashing with the shop’s aesthetic.

Digital solutions that meet the needs of the Fromagerie de la Plaine

The customization of the refrigerated lockers at the Fromagerie de la Plaine is complemented by a selection of several of our digital solutions.

While a traditional ordering kiosk would have taken up too much space in the shop, Yoann chose to install a wall-mounted touchscreen kiosk, one of our latest innovations. Perfectly suited for tight spaces, it is mounted very discreetly on the right wall of the cheese shop.

Right from the business model stage, Yoann Duquesnoy wanted to adopt an advanced and scalable digital solution. That is why he chose MonCasierFrais.fr for his automated point of sale!

He is already taking advantage of our vendor app, the management software for automatic lockers. But that’s not all: he can also show his customers the contents of each of his modules in real time thanks to our Click & Collect application.

Fromagerie de la Plaine's vending machine: the shop of the future

Ultimately, Fromagerie de la Plaine represents the future of local retail. Located in Sainte-Foy-lès-Lyon, it simultaneously opened a physical store and an automated point of sale with 48 refrigerated lockers. These, placed in a display window adjacent to the cheese shop, open as soon as the physical shop closes for the day.

The result: Yoann Duquesnoy, manager of Fromagerie de la Plaine, can now sell cheeses, charcuterie, and other dairy products 24/7.

Thanks to the digital expertise of MonCasierFrais.fr, which ranges from remote locker management software to a Click & Collect app, Yoann can manage his automated point of sale 100% online and track sales remotely. Adapting the vending machine to his work habits and the constraints of his premises ultimately allows him to benefit from a high-performance tool that helps him reach his sales goals.
