Always working on new features that personalise the user experience for our operators, our Tech team has developed the Product Mix, a feature now available across all of our vending points. What exactly is it? How do you set one up on your self-service vending point? You'll find the answers to these questions in our article.
What is a Product Mix?
Our Product Mix can be described as an assortment of different products sold in a single chilled locker. In concrete terms, as an operator, you previously had to place just one item per slot.
In other words, each product type created in your account on the seller app had to be sold in its own dedicated locker. The Product Mix now lets you bring several of your products together in a single assortment. With no limit, this new feature lets you design assortments to match your imagination and your stock.
On the customer side, the display has changed : each Product Mix now appears as a photo carousel, with one image per product in the batch (numbered 1/2, 2/2, etc. depending on how many products are combined) and the name of each item shown below its photo. The price shown remains the price of the locker as a whole, whichever product is displayed on screen.
How do you create a multi-product locker from a touchscreen kiosk?
You create your Product Mix while restocking your chilled lockers. As with regular restocking, two methods are available to you : using the barcode scanner or restocking manually.
Creating a multi-product locker without a scanner
Log in to the touchscreen kiosk with your usual security code, then follow these steps :
- Select the module where the assortment will be available ;
- Select the different products you want to place in this assortment ;
- Click the green button, « confirm my Mix », at the bottom right of your screen.
Tip : we recommend setting up our electronic shelf labels at your vending point so customers can immediately see the contents of each batch.
Creating your product assortment with the barcode scanner
In our article explaining how our barcode scanner works and why it's useful, we showed you that restocking a food locker required :
- Scanning the barcode of the locker in question ;
- Scanning the barcode or QR code of the product being added.
The product and the locker are linked automatically, and the information shown on the electronic label and the touchscreen kiosk updates instantly. To create a Product Mix, the process is exactly the same, except that you scan several products instead of just one. Hence the name multi-product locker for this solution !
Important: remember to empty out any non-empty lockers before adding a new product, otherwise you may accidentally create a Product Mix.

Most customers buying products from a chilled vending machine take the contents of several modules rather than just one. The Product Mix, which came out of a request from our own locker operators (via our collaborative ideation tool), makes it possible to bundle together products that are usually bought at the same time. Instead of opening several slots to buy 3 items, customers can find them grouped as a batch. This solution is especially handy for combining products of different weights (meat, cold cuts, vegetables, etc.).
